Meeting Places? - 2007/03/20 17:01 Hello everybody. Has anyone been able to come up with any ideas for a meeting place? I mean there is only so much time in the day and it can be difficult to find a place that fits into a busy schedule. I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences or ideas.

Re:Meeting Places? - 2007/03/20 17:37 Daniel, I would encourage you to take a hard look at your personal schedule. Anytime you put something into your schedule, you must drop something from your schedule. We all have one thing that is equal - 24 hours in one day. Therefore, when you add 15 or 30 minutes to have time alone with the Lord, then we must find the same 15 or 30 minutes to drop from our schedule. Just a thought.

Re:Meeting Places? - 2007/03/20 17:39 I have to get up early to be ready for work in the morning, so I don't have time to leave my apartment. So I have a favorite place in my apartment that I do my Bible study and prayer. It's in the corner, on my couch, by the lamp. And I usually have my puppy with me--he keeps me warm.

Re:Meeting Places? - 2007/03/22 17:10 Daniel: As you know the Psalmist David was a busy man. His kingdom was much larger than yours and he was responsible for more than you or I. However, he does give me hope when he said, "Be still and know that I am God!" I know that our lives are busy but our God is worth the sacrifice. Nothing should be more important to us than to spend time with our God - if it is, then we are too busy and whatever it is, is a rival to God and God is a jealous God and that thing is an idol in our lives and we should rid ourselves of such idols. Don't be so worldly minded that you crowd out the One that sustains your life, gifts you with life and keeps you to have the quality of life that you have to go after idols - Selah!!!!

Re:Meeting Places? - 2007/03/25 03:51 I set my alarm to rise at 5:50 AM. When I pray before closing my eyes for sleep I ask that God wake me refreshed and ready to go. Sometimes when my alarm goes off I battle to get out of bed (those are the mornings when I have not asked God to help me up in the morning). I find that if I turn my alarm off and go back to sleep then it is even harder the next day. But if I get out of be early one day, it is easier the next because that time in the morning with the Lord is so sweet. However, I am not so dedicated on the weekends.

I also have made a space in a room in my basement for my meeting place with God.

Re:Meeting Places? - 2007/03/26 16:51 Julie, you are right--it is vital to ask God to help you get out of bed! My alarm goes off at 5:30am and it is the most difficult thing not to hit the snooze button. But, God is so faithful to meet with us when we are obedient to spend time in His presence! Thank you for the encouraging response!
