For the past several years, Sammy Tippit Ministries has led a mission trip to Brazil. It is a time when many supporters and friends of STM come together and minister for a week and a half to people around the globe who desperately need Jesus. In the years past, Sammy Tippit Ministries has traveled to various parts of Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, and Sao Paulo, but this year the team will travel north to the city of Salvador. It is one of the major cities in Brazil, with a population of over 2 million people. It has a distinctive culture and history that makes this city truly unique.
Sammy Tippit Ministries is inviting their partners and friends from around the world to join them on this 10-day mission trip to Salvador. The Baptist Brazilian Convention, whom STM is again partnering with for the outreach, asked STM to bring another team back in October of 2007. The team will leave the United States Friday, October 5 return Tuesday, October 16, 2007. “We are excited about the opportunity to go to Salvador and continue to impact the world for Christ,” said Elliott Williams, who is the coordinator for the 2007 Brazil trip. “Pray that God will give me wisdom to handle all of the preparations that need to be made for this trip.”
Some of the preparations that Williams will be handling include the logistical portion of the trip. The team from STM will be ministering in numerous churches throughout the city of Salvador. In the evenings, these churches will divide up and meet together for “mini-conferences,” in which STM team members will have the opportunity to share the Gospel through preaching, testimonies, and singing. During the day, the STM team will also have the opportunity to witness and tell the story of Jesus in homes and schools throughout Salvador.
These “mini-conferences” and home and school visitations will all culminate for the last two days in a citywide evangelistic outreach. Sammy Tippit will preach at this crusade on the message of Revival. People who have been attending the “mini-conferences,” as well as those who heard the Gospel in their homes and schools will be encouraged to not only to attend the crusade, but to also bring their friends and families to hear the message of Christ.
“We are hoping that God will move in the churches and we’ll see a great revival and a great evangelistic harvest,” said Sammy Tippit.
Tippit, along with the entire STM team is looking forward to their ministry time in Salvador. If you would like to be a part of this amazing and life-changing experience, please email Elliot Williams at
