Sammy Tippit spoke at the Alamo City Christian Fellowship the final day of 2006. He told members of the congregation about a vision for the new year. Tippit said, “The last great revival in America took place 150 years ago. It was known as the Great Prayer Revival. It began in the financial district of New York City. About the same time that businessmen began to meet for prayer, there was a financial collapse. God moved as people prayed and a crisis engulfed the nation.

“The San Antonio, Texas evangelist continued, “We’re in the middle of another crisis. We have been in this crisis for several decades and it continues to grow. It is a crisis of the family. My heart’s desire is to see another great revival at this moment in history. God has placed it on my heart to launch a prayer movement for families. Our families need help. They need hope.”

Hope is exactly what many families received on that Sunday morning. One person attending the services said, “Thanks for giving us hope.” Several people told of how God had spoken to their hearts about forgiveness. The hurts in the hearts of those in attendance ran deep. That hurt had grown out of the tragedies of life that many had experienced.

Tippit gave an invitation at the close of the service and asked for those with wayward children and grandchildren to come to the front for prayer. So many people responded that they could not fit at the front of the church. Many knelt and prayed at the front of the church asking God to do a work in their families’ lives.

Many people stayed after the service concluded praying and sharing with one another. God moved in the hearts and lives of people. Tippit commented, “This is an indication to me that what God has given me to do in 2007 will meet a deep need among God’s people. I pray that what happened today will spread throughout the nation and around the world.

STM has scheduled several evangelistic meetings around the world as well as conducting conferences on revival in 2007. Sammy Tippit will preach evangelistic meetings in the United States, Brazil, Liberia, and Romania. He will also conduct conferences on revival in the United States, Brazil, India, Middle East, and South Africa.

Tippit’s book and workbook, Praying for Your Family, will be released in the United States, Brazil, South Africa, Armenia, and Iran during 2007. STM hopes to release the materials in India, China and Angola, Africa in 2008.

STM will also continue to develop unique features to the website in 2007. STM plans to offer a blog and community part of the website. We also hope to provide a special way to study the Bible through our devotions and a “knowledge” part of the site, where those coming to the site will have access to leading scholars.

It appears that 2007 will be a banner year for Sammy Tippit Ministries. Please pray that God will use the ministry for God’s glory during this coming year.
