Hundreds of audio messages coming Print E-mail

Sammy Tippit Ministries has initiated a variety of exciting projects that they hope to complete this year.  One project is directed by Amanda Stagg who is assisted by several summer staff members. They are digitizing many of Tippit’s preaching that have been stored on cassette tapes.  These tapes date back from the late seventies and early eighties and are from Tippit’s sermons around the world, including the churches he pastored in Germany and the United States.

I think it’s cool because these tapes cover such a large span of time. There are so many different topics in the messages. Anyone should be able to find something they want or need to listen to,” said Stagg.  “And, of course, most of Sammy’s messages include the Gospel and how to accept Christ as Savior.  So there is a huge potential for people to come to Christ through hearing his messages.  I think it will just be a great tool to challenge and encourage believers and non-believers all over the globe.”

This tool will be provided to people on the Sammy Tippit Ministries website, with a hopeful start date in the fall or winter of 2007.  The STM team hopes that these messages will serve as a great resource for people around the world who come to the website looking for spiritual help.  Many of the topics include messages on Biblical heroes such as Moses, Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, Noah.  Other topics cover humility, trials, suffering, discipleship, faith, forgiveness, intercession, and much, much more.

There are 350 sermons of Tippit’s altogether and then another 50 sermons of other amazing speakers such as C.S. Lewis, A.W. Tozer, Manley Beasley, and Mike Gilchrist. There are also messages specifically for women by Tex Tippit. They deal with discipleship, family and Christian growth.   Many of our friends from the internet have heard Sammy Tippit speak on topics about revival and Christian growth. But most have never heard him speak as a pastor. In his pastoral ministry, Tippit brings expository messages on books of the Bible such as Genesis, Romans, and Philippians.

The process of turning these thirty year old tapes into digitized media for the website is quite an extensive one. Stagg described the process, “We began listening to tapes to see what kind of condition they were in.  I then took (some) upstairs to the recording studio and started putting them onto the computer.  In the studio, we have a tape player hooked up to the sound panel, which is connected to the computer.  As the tapes plays, it is recorded into Adobe Audition.  I listen to the first 10-20 minutes of the sermon and then write a description that will eventually go onto the Internet when the recordings are finalized and downloaded.”

STM plans to make these messages from Tippit and some of the great men and women of God in recent history available to the general public without any cost. Please pray for the team as they continue to work on this project that will be a ministry to numerous others in the years to come.

Pray that they will be diligent and focused in each aspect of the work.  Also, pray that they will see the future of the project and the way that God intends to mightily use it in the hearts of people around the globe.  If you would like more information about this project and what specific types of sermons will be available on the STM website, please contact: 210-492-7501 or This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it
