The hard places. In the Old Testament, Daniel faced a hard place – Persia. Many hundreds of years later, Sammy Tippit Ministries (STM) also faces a hard place, the same one that Daniel faced – Persia. Yet, STM has watched God work miraculously in that difficult place.

STM began a television broadcast three years ago to make a difference in that difficult place. This broadcast is a series of messages that Sammy Tippit preaches at various training conferences for Persians around the world and is then translated and sent out to Mohabat television, a Christian Iranian TV station. Mohabat, which has been in existence for about 1 1/2 years, transmits all of its programs in Farsi, but its channels reach throughout Europe and the Middle East as well.

Tippit’s messages are two-fold in reaching others.  First Tippit trains Iranians in the various parts of the world where he can meet with small groups of people. Second, STM produces a broadcast that goes out every Sunday and Tuesday, two to three times each day.  These messages contain messages on Christian living, how to pray for your family, discipleship, walking with Christ, and his latest series, truths to live or die by. 

In this last series, Tippit speaks about his recent struggle with prostate cancer and whether he lived or died, he would carry certain Biblical truths with him.  If he lived, these truths consisted of victorious living pleasing to God, but if he died, these truths would be carried into eternity with him.  He asked the people who heard these messages to carry these truths with them as well.

“There have been a lot of testimonies of non-Christians coming to Christ,“ said Tippit. “There are testimonies of groups of people who meet in homes to watch the broadcast together every Sunday and Tuesday evening.  We have heard of countless people whose lives have been changed because of the broadcast. We know that there are thousands of people who watch these broadcasts all over the world.”

The Iranians have been very open to the Gospel and this is a great tool for the Word of God to be spread throughout the Middle East.  STM’s Iranian broadcast is unique because most of the preachers who speak on Mohabat television are Iranians who live in the West.  Tippit is one of the only Americans who preaches on this station, with the help of a translator.  Daniel Knight, who is head of STM’s technology department, completes the edits and production work once the filming is complete.  Knight also puts the footage on STM’s website, so everything is archived from television to the world wide web.
