The Legacy broadcast, which made its debut in 2006, has touched numerous lives across the United States, as well as around the globe. It has become a staple in Sammy Tippit Ministries as many lives have already been changed because of the broadcast.
“The Legacy broadcast is a video and pod cast for Christians and Christian families to help them grow in their faith in Christ and to leave a Christ-like legacy for their children and grandchildren,” said Sammy Tippit, president of Sammy Tippit Ministries, and one of the four co-hosts of the broadcast.
The other three co-hosts include Tippit’s wife, “Tex,” and David Walker, Senior Pastor of Alamo City Christian Fellowship in San Antonio, Texas, and his wife, Shirley. This 30-minute program airs every Wednesday and runs for an entire week. Archives are always available on the STM website. (www.sammytippit.org)
Legacy deals with both family issues and personal growth issues. For example, the next three weeks Sammy and David will deal with issues that speak to both of these subjects. The series, titled, “The Heart of a Real Dad” will focus on the heart of God, the Father and what He wants for us as His children. Then they will apply it to their own experiences as fathers and how God desires for fathers to emulate God’s wisdom and love towards their own children.
Another series that David and Shirley focused on while Tippit was recovering in the hospital from prostate cancer surgery, dealt with rearing children in a Christ-like manner. The Legacy broadcast has also dwelt on husband and wife relationships, as well as on how to grow in your faith and in your walk with Christ. The Tippits and Walkers have done a series on Tippit’s book, “Praying For Your Family.” Praying For Your Family is a book, workbook, and DVD where one can learn how God wants each and every one of us to pray and impact for their family members.
“If you are going to experience God’s best for your family life, you need to first experience the fullness of Christ in your family,” said Tippit. “We speak on the issues that help us to grow to become the husband, wife, and children that God intended for us to be.”
Legacy has also had various guests, who have brought encouragement and insight to many listeners. Byron Paulus, Executive Director of Life Action Ministries, in Buchanan, Michigan, and his wife, Sue, as well Bill Elliff, pastor of The Summit Church in Little Rock Arkansas, and his wife, Holly, are just a few of the guests that have ministered on the Legacy broadcast.
If you want to receive some amazing insight into various issues on both the family and your personal relationship with God, the Legacy broadcast is definitely the place to go. The wisdom and encouragement that the Tippits and the Walkers spread throughout the program will truly impact your life in ways you may not even be able to begin to imagine.
