Sammy and Tex Tippit are headed to Brazil during the first week of October. They plan to minister in churches throughout the city of Rio de Janeiro during the week of October 8 – 12. Sammy Tippit Ministries has had a close relationship with churches in Rio de Janeiro for many years. Tippit preached an evangelistic meeting in Maracana, the world’s largest stadium, in 1999.

However, Tippit is not returning to Rio de Janeiro for evangelistic meetings this time. He will be teaching and challenging believers to pray for their families. Plans are being made for Tippit to speak in three different sections of this city of nearly 10 million people.

Tippit’s book and workbook series, Praying for Your Family, has been translated into Portuguese and sold in Brazil. Tippit will take the principles from the book/workbook and encourage believers. He said, “I believe that this will result in many people coming to Christ. Once people start praying for their families, two things will happen. First, God will hear and answer their prayers. That will result in many coming to Christ. Second, Christians will become more sensitive to the needs of their families. That is healthy and will produce great results.”

Scores of churches and Bible study groups are using the series with their families in the United States and Canada. Great results are being reported in the churches and study groups. STM has heard of a number of people who have come to Christ as a result of the study. There has also been healing in many families.
