While all eyes are on the conflict in the Middle East, there is something else taking place. It is a quiet movement of people praying for people. Sammy Tippit Ministries is in the process of launching a worldwide movement to challenge, teach, and train people to pray for their families. Sammy Tippit was recently in the Middle East training Christian leaders from an undisclosed nation in launching a prayer movement for families.

Tippit met with “house church” leaders from an Islamic nation last week where he shared a vision with these leaders about praying for families. The leaders responded wholeheartedly to Tippit’s vision.

Sammy Tippit Ministries will be airing messages in the region on satellite television this spring that will instruct believers in how to pray for their families. Simultaneously, his upcoming book, Praying for Your Family will be released.

Many of those attending the conference shared how God used the teachings in their lives. Most of them came from Muslim families, where their families believe that they are “infidels” because they are followers of Jesus. Some told of difficulties they face because they have become believers. One leader said, “Thank you so much for teaching us these principles. We believe that God will use this time to transform our families. We have learned so much. It will help us so much.”

There have been several trends taking place in the country from where these leaders came. There has been a growing persecution of believers in the nation. However, there is a growing audience that is watching Christian programs on satellite television. Many of them are watching STM’s broadcasts. One new believer told Tippit that he has already watched 30 of Tippit’s programs even though he has only been a Christian for a little over a year.

One of the most phenomenal trends is that entire households are coming to Christ. When one understands the cost of following Jesus in a radically Islamic nation, it becomes mind boggling to think that entire families are giving their hearts to Christ. Many testimonies are coming from within the nation that when one person comes to Christ, the entire family then follows Christ.

STM’s vision to train people to pray for their families seems to be coming at the right moment. A prayer movement is being launched. It could reshape the Middle East.
