Sammy and Tex Tippit traveled to the Beatrix gold mines outside Welkom, South Africa. Gold was discovered during their trip, but it wasn't the kind of gold that has material value. Many people at the gold mines heard the gospel and found the source of gold that can only be mined in the human heart. They discovered a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Sammy Tippit preached last week an evangelistic outreach event at the gold mines in South Africa. Brazilian missionaries lined up who are working with the miners organized the meetings. Several hundred miners responded to Tippit's invitation to give their hearts to Christ. God moved mightily as Tippit preached and called for those present to turn from sin and trust in Christ. Counselors ministered to those who prayed to give their hearts and lives to Christ after Tippit concluded his message.
Sammy and Tex Tippit then traveled to Randfontein, South Africa and preached a series of meetings on the subject of revival in the Evagelical Reformed Church of Randfontein. A sense of God's presence filled the meetings. Tippit spoke at four services on Sunday and Monday. He preached on Personal Revival on Sunday morning and Revival in the family on Sunday evening.
A group of businessmen and pastors gathered for a breakfast on Monday morning and Tippit spoke to them about the principles of revival in the church at the breakfast. Many present seemed to be touched by the Spirit of God. Tippit concluded the series of meetings by calling the church to seek God for a vision of Himself. "The vision we need," Tippit said, "is a vision of God. Anything less than that is too small." God moved and many people committed themselves to seeking the face of God.
A team left Johannesburg on Tuesday morning for Luanda, Angola to begin a nationwide evangelistic outreach. STM asks our friends to be praying for the team.
