“At the crack of dawn on Sunday, the women came to the tomb carrying the burial spices they had prepared.They found the entrance stone rolled back from the tomb, so they walked in.But once inside, they couldn’t find the body of the Master Jesus.They were puzzled, wondering what to make of this.Then, out of nowhere it seemed, two men, light cascading over them stood there.The women were awestruck and bowed down in worship.The men said, ’Why are you looking for the Living One in a cemetery?He is not here, but raised up.Remember how he told you when you were still back in Galilee that He had to be handed over to sinners, be killed on a cross, and in three days rise up?’ Then they remembered Jesus words.”
Sammy Tippit was one of three speakers last week at a state wide conference on prayer and spiritual awakening. Dr. Roy Fish, Distinguished Professor of Evangelism at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dr. John Avant, Vice President of Evangelism for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention were also speakers.
Sammy Tippit spoke at the Ironbridge Baptist Church on the outskirts of Richmond, Virginia this past weekend. He presented the initiative, Praying for Your Family to those in attendance at the meetings. The conference is the first that Tippit plans for the United States during 2007. The San Antonio, Texas evangelist said, “God has burdened my heart to challenge the church in America to pray for a mighty revival in families in our land. We desperately need a move of God in Christian homes.”
Ambassadors For Christ will host its 3rd annual 5K race, Race For Romania, on Saturday March 24, 2007. The organization, which dedicates itself to raising up a generation of young people who want to serve Christ in all that they do, have also hosted Race For Rwanda(2004) and Race For Angola(2005).
Hundreds of people gave their hearts to Christ in an
evangelistic meeting on the outskirts of Monrovia,
Liberia during
a three day evangelistic effort with Sammy Tippit. The San Antonio, Texas
evangelist traveled to this war torn country three years ago, just after the
war ended. There was a tremendous response to his message at that time and
leaders asked him to return this year.
