We
live in a generation that has more information about how to witness
than perhaps any other generation since the time of Christ. We have the
inverse of Peter and John. There seem to be many educated and trained
witnesses for Christ, but few who have the power and courage to share
Him with others. Three major obstacles in the lives of Christians will
hinder their ability to tell others about Jesus. The worship of Jesus
Christ enables the believer to overcome these obstacles.
The
early life of Jesus was given to one great purpose - the redemption of
mankind. His every action was designed to bring men and women into a
proper relationship with the Father. However, He knew that all humanity
must experience forgiveness in order to enter into such a relationship.
There
are two great needs in the life of a Christian who is to be an
effective witness of Christ: purity of character and power. The
platform from which a person shares Christ with others is purity of
character. It isn't the dynamic of our gifts and abilities that causes
people to really listen to us. It's what we are on the inside.
The
goal of all prayer is the true worship of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we
must be very careful when we approach our times of prayer. Worship is
the greatest journey upon which we can embark in life. We must know
we're fully prepared for the greatest adventure of our lives. There is
nothing in life we will ever do that is more significant than worship.
We were created with the capacity to know, love, and worship Him. And
we're commanded to love Him with all our hearts.
