Dear Brother Sammy Tippit in Christ,
"You will be made rich in every way so that you
can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will
result in thanksgiving to God." II Cor. 9:11
We are grateful to the Lord for the many blessings
He has showered on this church. We would like to take this opportunity
to present our ministry so that you might know a little more about
Grace Baptist Church in Sao Paulo.
Brethren, this church, during the week leading up
to Easter, in obedience to the command to "Go and make disciples of all
nations …" (Mt. 28:19), held the Fifth Evangelistic Crusade, with the
participation of Pastor Sammy Tippit. Approximately 370 people were
saved.
As a result of this event, our building became
overcrowded, prompting us to establish two additional meeting places:
Holy Mount Baptist Mission (we rented a three-story building) and Vila
Nova Cumbica Baptist Mission. We expanded capacity from 250-450 people,
but we still don't have enough space. We believe this is an opportunity
coming from God in order that the Gospel might be preached in our
immediate neighborhood, which has a population of around 400,000
people.
We have concluded that the only way to solve this
problem is to buy a piece of property adjacent to the church. It costs
about $70,000 United States. And we would like to present this matter
to God and to you, so we might carry on the work of expanding the
outreach of the Gospel in Brazil and the world.
Our church is fully involved in missionary work:
we, in conjunction with New Tribes Mission of Brazil, support two
families working with tribal groups; we will be sending a lady
missionary to Africa with 100 percent of her support coming from our
church. In terms of social outreach, and in conjunction with the
government, we are operating two daycare centers, with 160 needy
children at each daycare. We have a youth center where we work with 120
teenagers, seeking to keep them from a life of drugs and crime.
In Christ,
Pr. Gilberto
