I was traveling from Santiago to another city on a truck. I was sitting next to a young person who had recently come to know Christ. She invited me to go to church the next week. I decided that I would go.

The preacher was Sammy Tippitt. His message was directed to my life. I had never heard a preacher, and never understood the invitation at the end of the message. I still remember his words, "if you… would like me to pray tonight…" and he said again "if you will raise your hands if you want to accept Christ." I was just like everyone else with my eyes closed, but I was thinking that he was talking specifically to me and that everything he was saying was directed toward me. Upon hearing the word "you" I stood up and went to the front. I was thinking that I was the only one, but I realized that there were more than 50 people that had already gone down.

There I prayed with Sammy to accept Christ. It was the November 19, 1996. I can still remember the voice of Ed Lacy singing "Tomando de la fuente" (Drinking from the fountain).

At the end of the service with my little English I told Sammy, "Today is a wonderful day for me because I accepted Jesus as my Savior." Sammy put his hands on my shoulder and told me something that I will never forget, "Follow Him." My life has totally changed and I have not looked back at alcohol, suicide, or sex. I am a new creation in Christ.

God has confirmed in my heart His call to extend His work and kingdom. I am a missionary although I am not full time. My desire is that the Lord will open the door for me to go to the theological seminary. This is my prayer. For this reason I am taking the advantage to write you and tell you what great things God has done through me for His glory and honor.
