The journalist posed a tough question: “Sir, do you believe our city is under a curse?” Her Siberian city had been built by slave labor during Stalin’s regime. The streets on which they walked had been built by slave labor. The apartments where they slept and ate had been built by slave labor. People had been sent to prison for their beliefs — and many had died building Norilsk.
When I went to the city to preach in the stadium, only a handful of elderly Christians lived there. So we sent students from the Bible institute in Oradia, Romania, to prepare for the evangelistic meetings and work with the new Christians after the crusade.
One week before my arrival, these students went to every home in the city with an invitation to come to the crusade and to leave a gospel pamphlet. As a result, the evangelistic meetings had the largest attendance in the history of that stadium. I’ve never experienced anything like what I saw there. When I gave the invitation for people to believe in Christ and follow Him, ninety-five percent of the people in the stadium responded. It was overwhelming.
At the close of the service, the journalist asked her question. I said, “No, I don’t believe your city is under a curse. I believe it is under a blessing.”
She looked surprised.
I said, “I’m convinced that many of those who worked and died here in those labor camps were Christians, and they prayed for this day. I believe that they prayed that one day the people who walked these streets and slept in these apartments would one day hear and receive the gospel. Today is that day. So this city is blessed.”
What I didn’t realize that was that the grandparents of many of our Romanian Bible college students had died in those Siberian prison camps. They never saw the blessing — the answer to their prayers, but their grandchildren were the first to bring the message of Christ to that Siberian city.
Maybe you’ve prayed and it seems as though heaven is closed to your prayers. Remember the Bible says that, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” You may not see the answer to your prayer right now. But you can be certain that He will accomplish His will.

Matthew : Chapter 14
22)  Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23)  After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24)  and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25)  Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26)  When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27)  But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28)  “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29)  “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30)  But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31)  Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” 32)  And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33)  Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Book of the Month

Sammy Tippit told his fiancée, “I can’t promise we’ll be rich, but life won’t be boring.”
Sammy had no idea what an understatement that would become. Beginning in the bars of Baton Rouge and the nightclubs of Chicago, Tippit has shared the news of life-changing faith in Christ all over the world – including in the middle of a revolution in Romania, the aftermath of genocide in Rwanda, and war in Burundi and the Congo.
Sammy’s lifelong adventure has come at a great price. He’s been cursed, threatened, arrested, deported, and blacklisted. He’s also been personally broken, ravaged with illness, and devastated by grief.
Yet he continues to preach to in stadiums, in open fields, and via satellite technology to hundreds of thousands around the globe.  For all other books…
