Colossians : Chapter 1
1)  Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, 2)  To God’s holy people in Colossae, the faithful brothers and sisters[a] in Christ: Grace and peace to you from God our Father.[b] Thanksgiving and Prayer 3)  We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4)  because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— 5)  the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel 6)  that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. 7)  You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant,[c] who is a faithful minister of Christ on our[d] behalf, 8)  and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

Book of the Month

Sammy Tippit told his fiancée, “I can’t promise we’ll be rich, but life won’t be boring.”
Sammy had no idea what an understatement that would become. Beginning in the bars of Baton Rouge and the nightclubs of Chicago, Tippit has shared the news of life-changing faith in Christ all over the world – including in the middle of a revolution in Romania, the aftermath of genocide in Rwanda, and war in Burundi and the Congo.
Sammy’s lifelong adventure has come at a great price. He’s been cursed, threatened, arrested, deported, and blacklisted. He’s also been personally broken, ravaged with illness, and devastated by grief.
Yet he continues to preach to in stadiums, in open fields, and via satellite technology to hundreds of thousands around the globe.  For all other books…

The Evangelist Makes Disciples: Bearing Fruit that will Last
I want to welcome you our last day of the third week – seventh day of our study on revival and evangelism. And I want to conclude this study talking about fruit that remains .. disciples that will continue to follow Jesus Christ.
I believe that God wants to move and work and to send a great harvest – but I believe He wants that harvest to be one that will remain – one that will last. Just this week, as I’m filming this, I had a wonderful experience .. I’m preaching in a church here in Mobile, Alabama and I had a lady come up to me and .. she’s married to a pastor in town here, and they came up to me. She said I want to show you something .. and she opened a little new testament and it had my signature with Philippians 1:20 and 21 on it.
She said, you signed that – 43 – years – ago. Forty-three years ago, she had attended a meeting where I was speaking and she had committed her life to Christ. She said “that was a milestone in my life when I made that commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.” And she said “I’m serving Him today – my husband and I are in ministry .. he’s a pastor and we’re serving the Lord.”
And there was nothing – that brought such great joy to my heart as to see someone like that who’s following Christ 43 years down the road.
And that’s what we want – I mean, we’re talking about God working .. you know sometimes, people ask me – will say, Sammy, you preach these big meetings and, you know .. “Where are the people afterwards?”
The largest Romanian speaking church in Moldova was started in one of these meetings .. where God moved and thousands of people were converted .. and thousands of Romanian speaking people formed this church and it’s today .. if you go to Kishinev, you will go to the largest church – and it’s that church that was formed out of people coming to Christ.
That’s the joy. And so what we want to see is we want to see disciples that remain. So, how do we see disciples .. there’s two things that must be imparted.
First of all, you need to impart the Word of God. The Word is our spiritual food .. If someone doesn’t eat physically, they’re going to die. You need nourishment. And the Word of God .. the scriptures are spiritual nourishment.
Jesus said, “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God”. So what we need to do, is impart the Word of God.
Now, there are five ways in which you can impart the Word of God .. By hearing .. by reading .. by meditating .. by memorizing .. and by studying. If you’ll take those five things, impart to people .. teach them to read the Word of God .. teach them to memorize the Word of God .. to meditate on the Word of God .. to think on those things. And then to study it .. and to hear the Word of God, God will take that scripture and God will grow them .. feed them .. they will become strong in the Lord.
But not only an impartation of the Word of God, but your very life. This is what the apostle Paul wrote and said .. he said not only do I want to impart to you the Word, but I wanted to impart to you – my own life. In other words, how the Word has worked in my life.
Transparency is critical to this .. we must be transparent .. sharing with people. This is where I struggle .. this is where I fail .. this is what the Word showed me .. this is how I applied the Word .. this is how I got back up .. this is how I walked with Christ. Really – showing people how the Word of God has been applied to your life to help you to grow in Christ.
And not only transparency and applying the Word of God, but accountability. One of the things that I’ve discovered is that you can’t run this race of the Christian life alone. I’m a runner and I do running, but I’ll tell you something, when I have someone to hold me accountable, I do a whole lots better at it than when I’m doing it just by myself. Now, I like to run by myself .. and I enjoy getting out alone and running by myself .. but I need accountability if I’m going to do the best that I can.
And if you’re going to become all that God wants you to become, you need a group of people around you that will hold you accountable. I’m not talking about beating you over the head, but encouraging you .. encouraging you to be what God wants you to be. And if you’ll have those people, God will use you and God will grow you and you’ll be able to grow others and you’ll be able to multiply yourself.
I hope that these studies have been helpful to you .. my desire .. my prayer is for a great revival that will result in a harvest of souls .. of people coming to Christ and that those people will remain. ..10, 20, 30, 40 years down the road, those people will be living for Jesus Christ.
Thank you for going through this study and may God bless you.
